Portinscale is a small rural village and does not have public facilities.  Visitors are encouraged to use the transport hub of Keswick where possible, so that local parking is retained for those who need it the most.

There are several parking options to consider, in and around the village:

 – Keswick Car Parks.  Keswick is approximately 1 mile (20 min) away by foot, through quiet roads and paths. There are multiple parking options. Details can be found at www.keswick.org/visitor-information/car-parks

 – Village Hall / Farmer’s Arms.  There are 4 off-road parking spaces between the village hall and the Farmer’s Arms on a first come, first served basis.  On-street parking is also possible on one side of the main road through the village.

 – Derwentwater Hotel.  All day parking is available for guests and visitors in an off-street car park.

 – Chalet Cafe.  2 off-street spaces available for patrons on a first come, first served basis.  On-street parking is also available opposite the cafe, with no restrictions.

 – Derwent Water Marina.  Off Street parking available for patrons.

 – Street Parking.  Beyond the Derwent Water Marina there is limited on street parking for approximately 25 cars.  Please be very conscious of access requirements for buses, tractors, emergency services, mountain rescue etc.  Also be aware that verge parking behind double yellow lines is not permitted and would be subject to enforcement by local authorities.

  – Nichol End Marina.  Approximately 40 off road spaces for customer use only.

 – Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden.  Pay and display parking with discounts for customers.

 – Keswick Rugby Club Park and Sail.  200 off-road spaces at £4 per day.  Users receive a voucher for 15% off the Keswick Launch (Lake Cruise), for the driver and up to 4 passengers.

– Public Transport.  Stagecoach offer regular bus services to Portinscale with increased regularity in peak season.  Please check their website for details. www.stagecoachbus.com/#
